Struggling with Sony’s Colours?

You’re Not Alone.

Sony’s Colours Feel Off

Sony’s color science is technically accurate—but does it look good? Many would say no. Instead of the rich, organic look Canon is known for, Sony’s colours are often described as clinical, cold, and digital. Even with the latest cameras, dialling in pleasing colours takes effort.

Skin Tones just don’t click

Sony shooters know the struggle: older models push a green into the skin tones, while newer models have you stuck between too green and too magenta. You tweak and tweak, but natural, effortless skin tones always seem just out of reach.

Greenery and Nature feel flat

Ever noticed that outdoor shots from your Sony feel…off? Many describe Sony’s greens and skies as two-dimensional or having a video-like quality. It’s subtle, but once you see it, you can’t unsee it.

Canon-Like Colours without the Hassle

EOS Alpha wasn’t just built to fix these issues—it was designed to capture the essence of Canon’s color science. Developed since 2022 and constantly refined, these LUTs give your footage the rich, natural, and effortless colours you’ve been chasing. But don’t take my word for it—watch the video below and see for yourself.

Some Examples

What you will get

Support for almost all Recording Colour Spaces

  • HLG / HLG1 / HLG2 / HLG3
  • S-Log / S-Log 2 / S-Log 3
  • BT2020 / S-Gamut / S-Gamut3 / S-Gamut3.Cine

Works in Every Workflow

By default, the LUTs transform your footage to Rec.709.
The LOOK and LOOK CLASSIC variant transforms your footage to DaVinci Intermediate/DaVinci Wide Gamut. From there, you can go anywhere whilst keeping the emulation intact.

Three Variants

As shown above, EOS Alpha comes in three variants: DYNAMIC, HARMONIC and CLASSIC.

DYNAMIC is modelled after the colour science in more recent cameras, such as the EOS R or the 700D, to name only two.

HARMONIC keeps the characteristic of Canons colours, however, it does not apply a custom contrast. The resulting image is not as punchy and overall a bit more gentle.

CLASSIC is the newest variant and is modelled after the Canon EOS 5D classic from 2005. It is by far my favourite of the three, delivering deep film-like colours with a healthy dose of contrast — the punch — Canon is known for today.

Production and Post Production

All LUTs come in two variants. One for colour grading and one for your camera.

The version for grading ensures the best quality with a precision of 65x65x65 points.

The version for cameras and monitors ensures highest compatibility with a size of 17x17x17 points. This is a level of precision most cameras and monitors can handle.
